The 200+ members of the Sapphire Sound are proud to represent the community of Mira Mesa in San Diego, CA. We were honored to march in the 2016 and 2022 Tournament of Roses Parades. We welcome ALL students into our program. We are the Sapphire Sound, the Blue Team!

Color Guard
The Color Guard team will head to the WGASC Championships this weekend at Marina HS. We are proud of our team for all they have accomplished this winter guard season. Congratulations!
A big congratulations goes to our coaches, Sarah Abdulal, Chance Webb, and Geo Rosales who took their independent color guard team, Vox Artium, to Nationals this past week in Dayton, Ohio. They had a fantastic set of performances and scored in the top 10 groups at championships. We are so fortunate to have top-level instructors here at Mira Mesa!

In the Director's Corner
This is going to be a busy week. I will be traveling with the Wind Ensemble to Washington, D.C. for their participation in the Presidents Cup National Concert Band Festival with the U.S. Army Band “Pershing's Own”. Thank you to Joseph Hayes who will be working with the other ensembles while we are gone and our Color Guard coaches will be working hard to prepare the team for Championships on the weekend. Best wishes to all!
Just a quick reminder our formal Spring Concerts will be held on April 25th and 26th in the MMHS Theatre at 6:30 pm. Tickets will be available for pre-purchase beginning next Monday, April 22nd for $10 each. Students may bring in cash or a check (payable to: MMIMB). We have sold out most years for our spring concerts as the seating is limited. Any tickets still available will be sold at the door on the day of the concert. Spring Concert #1 on Thursday, April 25th will include Jazz Band, small ensembles, and the Symphonic Band (per. 3). Spring Concert #2 on Friday, April 26th will have the Concert Band (per. 1) and the Wind Ensemble (per. 2) performing. Come support the Sapphire Sound musicians!
The Sapphire Sound and Mira Mesa HS will be well represented this week! Thank you for all of your support!
