Let's Raise Funds!


Each year our operating budget nears $300,000 to help bring opportunities to the students of the Mira Mesa HS Sapphire Sound. All of our transportation, music, instruments and equipment, marching staff, color guard staff, and more comes from us being able to raise the funds needed to maintain this high quality program. We work hard at raising money through various fundraisers such as our annual Band Tournament, Pancake Breakfast, “Making the Cut” BBQ contest, restaurant nights, individual  donations, and many more. It takes a wonderful village to support each student who wants to participate in this award-winning program. We believe that no student will be denied the opportunity to participate in the Sapphire Sound due to individual monetary factors. On average the breakdown of costs per student totals just over $1,100 each year.

From this $1,100 per student, we have a transportation and field trip contribution of $425 that we ask for your help with. If you are able to help contribute, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to MMIMB (non-profit 501c3). Your contribution to the Mira Mesa Instrumental Music Boosters may be multiplied. Many local and national companies will match the charitable contributions of their current and retired employees. Also, many local businesses and national companies will make a contribution based on the number of volunteer hours you do. Be sure to check with your employer or business to see if they have a matching gift program.

Sponsor a prop! Our field show has several props each year including the front drops that border the main sideline of the field. We are happy to have your name added to the back of any of our props this year. $50 will allow you to have your name (individual or family) added to any front drop and $75 will allow your name to be added to a field prop.

Sponsor an instrument. There's no denying instruments are expensive. Most of the instruments in the band cost somewhere between $1,200 - $9,000. If you are able to help contribute any monetary amount to the instrument fund, please consider giving a donation.

Color Guard equipment. The color guard uses flags, flag poles, faux rifles and sabres, and other equipment to help enhance the performance of music on the field. To sponsor a flag is $25, pole is $25, faux rifles or sabres are $50.
