Color Guard

Congratulations to the Sapphire Sound Color Guard team for an outstanding season! Thank you for your legacy of moving our team up in division. Onward and upward! 

We will be holding auditions for next year's team on May 1 and May 2 from 3:45 - 5:30 pm outside the music building. Invite your friends who want to be a part of the Sapphire Sound program!

Spring Concert Information

The Sapphire Sound Concert Ensembles are presenting their formal Spring Concerts this Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26 at two separate concerts in the Theatre. The concerts begin at 6:30 pm each night. Tickets are on sale now for $10 each. Students may bring in cash or a check (payable to: MMIMB) to Mrs. C. We have sold out these concerts most years, so consider pre-purchasing your tickets this week. Any tickets still available will be sold at the door on the day of the concert. 

Spring Concert #1 on Thursday, April 25th will include Jazz Band, small ensembles, and the Symphonic Band (per. 3). 

Spring Concert #2 on Friday, April 26th will have the Concert Band (per. 1) and the Wind Ensemble (per. 2) performing.

The doors will open approximately 25 minutes before each concert. Light concessions will be available for purchase. Come celebrate the wonderful ensembles of the Sapphire Sound!

All Bands will wear their formal concert black attire

May 23 - Spring Pops Concert 6:30 pm in the Gym

May 24 - Sapphire Sound Awards Night

May 25 - Sapphire Sound Fun Day (optional)

In the Director's Corner 

The Wind Ensemble had an incredible trip to Washington, D.C.. We were honored to receive the top award of the President's Cup at the National Concert Band Festival with the U.S. Army Band “Pershing's Own”. Thank you to the students who gave their very best to the group for the last set of months to get ready for this event. Thank you to the parents and adults who traveled with the group. It was great to have a small cheering section in the audience for our performance. Thank you to the chaperones who were willing to do anything for the group to make sure their trip went smoothly, which it did! Thank you to Joseph Hayes who worked with the other ensembles while we were gone.  

As we near the final weeks of school, I am reminded of time. It moves quickly. Let's all remind ourselves to soak in the experiences we have daily. I hope you can make it to the spring concerts this week. The student musicians have been doing a wonderful job preparing their music.
