Wind Ensemble Trip Payments
The Wind Ensemble (period 2) is headed to Washington, D.C. in April to participate in the President's Cup with the Pershing's Own (Army's top band). It's an honor to be selected as one of the 8 groups to perform and work with the military ensemble. We already have our deposit in for our airline tickets, but now we need to stay on schedule to pay for hotel and transportation. The final cost of our 5-day trip should be finalized this week, so Wind Ensemble students will bring home the information.
Thursday (11/30) - $200
Thursday (12/14) - $100
Wednesday (1/17) - $200
Thursday (2/15) - Final payment due
Giving Tuesday - If you would like to make an extra donation to the Sapphire Sound, please feel free to send in check: MMIMB, cash, or click HERE to donate online. Any amount will help the students of the Sapphire Sound!

I hope you enjoyed your thanksgiving week with family and friends. We are still feeling great about Championships and did a recap this morning about our experience. This week we shift gears and look forward to working on our literature for our Winter Concert on Thursday, December 7th. The Winter Concert is one of my favorite concerts of the year! It is exciting to open with the marching band performing one last time this year's field show and then transitioning with holiday selections. All of Period 0 will be working together to prepare for this annual performance. Speaking of Period 0, we will continue to meet throughout the first semester. Color Guard, 9th & 10th graders, and others who select to continue in semester two, will meet all year. I think it's a great way to start the day!
I am grateful to each student, family member, and supporter of the Sapphire Sound. We are proud to be authentically ourselves while being a family. Let's continue our journey together and see where the next set of months of school takes us. If these past three months are any indication of what's ahead, then the rest of this school year is going to be GREAT!
Finally, Logan Fleming will represent Mira Mesa HS and our music program this weekend at Stanford University for the CODA December All-State Orchestra! Logan was selected as one of only two clarinets for this year's ensemble. Congratulations!
Have a great week!
All In, Always.
